Dark Fear

Bandruí Chronicles Book Two

Calico Meagher and Cait Sidhe go to Paris to help her teenaged cousin who is being stalked by another of the ancient dark creatures preying on humanity. The monster has lived beneath the City of Light for centuries but has now found the perfect weapon in 14-year-old Mug Byrne. The druid teenager has psychic powers that the dark creature can harness to possess countless people in the city, forcing them to do its bidding.

Arriving too late to stop the abduction of Mug and his parents, Calico and Cait Sidhe frantically search the city. They discover the monster is more powerful than they realize when it rips Cait Sidhe away from Calico.

Lizzi Williams tries to help Calico but is failing. The bandruí chronicles might hold the secret to defeating the dark creature but she can’t read the Irish language. Desperate, Lizzi turns to the only person in Denver who can read the ancient tomes. Is it really that bad that he happens to be undead? Well Sweet Lady Marmalade, of course it is.

Detrick Palmerroy visits Calico in Paris as often as his powers allow. He offers what help he can along with moral support, but there’s only so much his astral body can do. Or is there?

And, of course, even without Cait Sidhe’s powers, Calico doesn’t hesitate to throw herself at trying to stop the monster before it can use her cousin to terrorize and destroy Paris by turning everyone into mindless killers.
